The “Casa de la Misericordia” is a community center in Nogales, Mexico, which offers its services to the residents of the surrounding neighborhood “Bella Vista”. Their core program is a free lunch program that feeds between 300 and 400 children each school day. On site is also a daycare center and classrooms for adult-education classes. Soon a computer lab and a library will be added. The “Casa de la Misericordia” is supported by the bi-national educational organization Borderlinks, which offers experiential travel seminars to learn about the situation on the US-Mexico border. They also receive funds from the Mexican government, but do rely on private donations as well.
